Language
The official language of the Symposium is English.

Delegates
ISME Symposia are open to everyone with an interest in Microbial Ecology. The symposia usually attract 1500-2500 delegates, representing more than 50 countries.

Registration
All participants must submit a completed registration form (online), which will be open from January 2016 onwards. 

Climate
The average temperature in August is 25 degrees Celsius with an average rainfall of 104mm. 

Clothing
Clothing is informal for all occasions. 

Time Zone   
Montreal uses Eastern Standard Time (EST). This time zone is -5 hours Greenwich Mean Time (GMT-5).

Convention Center
The symposium will take place in the Palais des congrès de Montreal - 1001 Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle, Montreal QC H2Z 1H5 Canada. Map

Childcare Service
If we have enough applicants ISME can arrange childcare during the conference days executed by a professional Childcare Service Company. The estimated price at the moment would be 90 CAD per full day based on a minimum of 4 children but the more applicants, the lower the fee. Lunch
Montreal has many restaurants. There are plenty of options available to get lunch or even have dinner close to the convention center. More details can be found at the restaurant guide of Tourisme Montreal.

ISME App
There will be an ISME16 app available for download in iTunes and in Google Play.
When downloading the app it will load all the conference data and then you are all set to work with it offline. This new app allows you to look for speakers, create your personal program,find abstracts, fill in keywords, locate exhibitors and much more!Please note that we will update the app right before ISME16 starts so you have the latest data on your phone.
